See two new artworks at Int. Festival – Chicago this weekend

SAQAAuction400December 21

After hand stitching this small artwork within an inch of its life, I donated it to the silent auction to be held at the Studio Art Quilt Associates’ conference coming up in April.  But you can see it April 6 – 8 in a special preview at the SAQA booth at the International Quilt Festival in Rosemont, near Chicago, IL.

40 x 40 inches
Materials:  White cotton fabric painted with acrylic textile paint,
polyester fabric, ink, batting, rayon and polyester thread,
miniature paper fasteners.

Also premiering at IQF – Chicago will be Midwest. This artwork will be showing as part of the SAQA IL/WI regional exhibit, Stitched Together.

“Rock” at International Quilt Festival – Chicago this week

Rock will be at International Quilt Festival this week, April 7-9, as part of the Affinity exhibit.  The exhibit, part of the Dinner at Eight artists series, was juried and curated by Jamie Fingal and
Leslie Tucker Jenison.

Rock was, of course, inspired by photos taken in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. It is 40×40 inches.  Materials:  White cotton cloth, acrylic paint, duck cloth, felt, oil paint sticks, rayon and cotton thread. Techniques include machine piecing, appliqué, and stitching.

There is an excellent catalog that you can purchase online for only $15.
