Three THE 100 Artworks in New Homes!

THE 100, Fiberart For A Cause fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, wrapped up on February 4th after raising $10,380 in just 2.5 hours.  THE 100 invited artists promptly sent out their artwork to THE 100 generous patrons.  Three patrons have generously shared photos of the artwork in their homes:

This is the very colorful and cheerful sewing studio of  patron Laura H. Osbun.  Artist Larkin Van Horn‘s Celebrate! II is the wonderfully embellished small fiber artwork with the purple background.  More info on the artwork here.  All pairings were random, but this one made me very happy as both Laura and Larkin have been FFAC supporters since the very beginning.  Plus Laura loves purple!

Patron Marsha Moody shared this photo of artist Lura Schwarz Smith artwork in an office where it joins many other artworks. Lura’s fiber artwork is instantly recognizable for the fine rendering of a hand.  Again, both artist and patron have been supporters of FFAC for its entire 10-year run.  More info about When All Else Fails is on Lura’s website here.

Artist Terri Stegmiller also has a lovely blog post about her THE 100 artwork that went to a breast cancer researcher.  How wonderful is that?

THE 100’s Pinterest board maintained by Deborah Boschert has more of the artworks as shown before the event.

Thank you to all THE 100 artists and patrons for making the event such a success!

We Did It!

Thanks to generous fiber artists and patrons, we raised $10,380 for the American Cancer Society in just 2.5 hours.  What an amazing team effort!

100 very generous patrons will receive randomly assigned artwork from our talented 100  invited artists.

Fiberart For A Cause has raised over one-quarter of a million dollars since its beginnings with three fiber postcards ($90 raised!) in 2005.  You can see all the efforts made by fiber artists, patrons, and businesses to achieve the one-quarter of a million dollars raised to fight cancer here.  Fiberart For A Cause is now happily retired.

THE 100, fiber fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, opens today at 10 a.m. Central.

YEA!  Let’s check the checklist for today:

1.  100 Artists  + 100 amazing artworks? CHECK

2.  My thermos of java, a Mojo bar, and a whole lot of optimism that we can meet our goal of raising $10,000 in one day? CHECK

3.  Your fingers on the keyboard ready to send your Request to Donate at 10 a.m. Central and your credit card at hand to make your $100 donation directly to the ACS after I send you the special link?  I hope so!  All we need is you to make the day a success!  All the details to participate are here.

Thank you in advance for your very generous support!

Tomorrow – 10 a.m. Central. Let the fun begin!

100 Artists + 100 Patrons + One Day = $10,000 to Fight Cancer

At last!  THE 100 opens tomorrow (Wednesday, February 4) at 10 a.m . Central.

I know, I know.  Raising $10,000 in one day is a crazy, crazy goal.  But I really think we can do it with your help.

Line Brush for the original drawing.”

Fiberart For A Cause has already donated more than $240,000 directly to the American Cancer Society.

When our goal of raising $10,000 in one day is achieved tomorrow, we will have donated more than 1/4 million dollars in the last ten years.  And to think the first $100,000 + was raised one $30 fiber postcard at a time. I will happily (really and truly) retire Fiberart For A Cause once our goal is reached.

We’ve come a long way thanks to everyone’s amazing generosity.  Thank you in advance for your support and your patience tomorrow.

When generous fiber artists and patrons join together, wonderful things happen!
