The redwing blackbirds are back, Spring is in the air and garbage abounds. Plenty of fodder for this week’s The Garbage Day Project photo.

This week’s bonus photo was taken through my parents’ snow fence toward their Amish neighbor’s farm. It is still very much winter in Wisconsin.

Hey, it’s Day 1 of the Invitational Reverse Auction to benefit the American Cancer Society and there are ony four artworks still available. Unbelievable!

Yes, the minimum donation will keep dropping. For example a minimum donation of $500 today will be below $250 on Friday. But how long can you wait for YOUR artwork to still be there?

The regular Invitational Reverse Auction to benefit the American Cancer Society opens today at 8 a.m. CST with artwork by Jamie Fingal, Mary Beth Frezon, Lynn Krawczyk, Carol Moore and Elin Waterston.

Michele Hardman chose Heidi Miracle McMahill’s artwork at the Gold Donor Level and boosted the total, so far, for the Reverse Auction to over $5000.

This means Fiberart For A Cause has donated more than $130,000 in less than two years to the American Cancer Society.

The artwork shown here is Spring Path by Mary Beth Frezon, a 2007 Quilt National artist.

Nancy Hepp of SewSlip.com was unable to contact me via e-mail yesterday and was wondering if she could still be a Gold Donor for the Invitational Reverse Auction. Who would say no to that?

Cynthia St. Charles beautiful kimono raised $750 for the American Cancer Society! Our total is now over $4500.

Obviously I will accept other Gold Donors up to 8 a.m. CST Monday.
Just divide the Monday minimum donation by two and add that to the minimum donation — that would be the Gold Donor level.

You might not hear back from me right away, but I will check periodically during the weekend.

What a great year for the Invitational Reverse Auction and for the ACS. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
