Inspiration and The Garbage Day Project

Last Leaf

We had an ice storm last weekend. Our driveway, where this photo was taken, was a sheet of ice. We were one of the lucky ones; our power was off for only an hour. Still waiting for the snow to make it really seem like December; our grass is still green in spots.

Sometimes there really isn’t anything to laugh about in The Garbage Day Project. Just more “good stuff” going in the garbage truck.

A note to subscribers to “Art, Nature, Creativity, Life” – I added a new photo and a book recommendation today. You will find the “New Stuff” link on the “Introduction” page. Ah, the joys of an online book.

Inspiration and The Garbage Day Project

Golden

This is a closeup of a very large mushroom. There is such a variety of color and texture in such a small space. I chose this photo specifically because of the similar photo on today’s The Garbage Day Project.

So go on over to the The Garbage Day Project and check it out. There’s also a link to a site that can help you reduce the catalogs your mailperson has to tote around this time of year. The weeblies I was having last week with WordPress have been solved.

Inspiration and The Garbage Day Project Post

A River of Grass

Prairie grass at sunset.

If it’s Tuesday, of course there is a new post in The Garbage Day Project. It’s the start of the holiday garbage season. Please note that something weird is going on with WordPress on The Garbage Day Project blog. I posted, but it’s not pretty.

Pink

My Mom grows ornamental cabbage; what glorious pinks and purples in an otherwise sedate November landscape.

If it’s Tuesday, of course there is a new post in The Garbage Day Project. It’s back to the 70′s. And just when I thought all the humor had gone out of garbage.

Inspiration and The Garbage Day Project

Autumn Sunflower

The inspiration photo this week is the husk of a sunflower head after the bluejays finished with the seeds. I picked it up off the ground because the interior was still pristine white and very soft.

I was surprised to see the sunflower seed spiral pattern was reiterated in the structure of the head itself. Spirals in nature are based on the Fibonacci sequences, a series of numbers in which each succeeding number is the sum of the two previous numbers. Pinecones, pineapples and some seashells also demonstrate Fibonacci-based spirals.

Of couse, there’s a new post today on The Garbage Day Project. It’s a very seasonal post.
