Collage Mania Weekly Preview
All 235 collages donated by more than 100 artists (all women) from around the world to Collage Mania will be available for preview beginning next Monday, April 28. I will post the url here and there will also be a link from the Collage Mania home page here.
Please note that the collages will be in the approximate order in which they were donated; a list of participating artists in the order their collages were received is here.
There won’t be an alpha index to artists as I do want patrons to stroll through the pages during Preview Week and perhaps see some art that might otherwise escape their attention.
The Collage Mania pages will remain on my website indefinitely after Collage Mania, May 5 and 6, as a resource for collage artists.
On to the collages:
Joy Hellman sent seven collages and this is one of my favorites. It is 8″h x 7″w and materials include fiber and mixed media. The collage is mounted on 8″x10″ mat board, signed, dated and ready for framing. Joy is a prolific artist working in a variety of media. You can see more of Joy’s artwork work on her blog.
Materials included in Ice Melt by Jeri Pollack are tissue paper, yarn, Angelina fibers, cotton thread, seed beads, Shiva paint sticks, glass beads, and acrylic medium. The collage is 10″h x 8″w x .5″d and mounted on 10″x8″ turquoise mat board, signed, dated and ready for framing. Read more about Jeri’s art and adventures on her blog.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that all collages are mounted to fit a standard 10″x8″ frame (either vertically or horizontally).
100% of the proceeds, thanks to the generosity of the participating artists, are donated directly to the American Cancer Society through Fiberart For A Cause.
