New Year’s photos
Ok, the name probably makes you laugh, but I have never had one of these at my feeders before. It is quite a friendly bird, a bit like the chickadee that will come right up to the feeder while you are hanging it.
A note to subscribers of Art, Nature, Creativity, Life: There is a new photo essay (A Prairie New Year) now added to the book under “New Stuff - 2008.”
You will notice my posts will be fewer in January and February - to the studio!

Sue -Thank you! I should draw more, but I think photography is a lot like drawing. The more you do, the better you become at it. And digital is so forgiving. So I’m not sure it’s so much talent as shooting every day. Thanks for writing, V.

i once had a tufted titmouse land on my head while i was napping on my pation lounge chair. i stayed very still and that little bird kept trying to pull hair out of my head — he was building a nest. my husband got a pic & when i got up & walked across the patio he then landed on my shirt! cute little birds for sure !

Sharon - Wonderful story! Perhaps my little bird will stay for the summer.
