New post on The Garbage Day Project blog

An ironing board with pink legs–who could resist that? Visit The Garbage Day Project for today’s photos and news about garbage, art and recycling.

Today’s bonus photo is a closeup of fountain grass. I bought a flat of grasses at a plant sale and thought they were miscanthus sinensis (tall), but they turned out to be these lovely, short grasses. I have never really appreciated them until today with the delicate seed heads swaying in the fog and mist.

This is a wonderful photo that I immediately saw as an art quilt. Would it be alright if I used this picture as inspiration?

Denise - Yes, I do intend these photos as inspiration. With the caveat that the photo itself or a reproduction not be used in the quilt and, if you should show the quilt, that a credit such as “Inspired by a photo by Virginia A. Spiegel” be given.

I do ask readers to remember that I do hold the copyright on these photos and any use of them does require my permission.

Thank you for asking; good manners abound in the quilt world!

I would love to see the quilt when it is finished and perhaps I can showcase your quilt with this photo again on this blog in the future.

    Warm regards,
    Virginia
