Art quilt. Rust-printed and monoprinted fabrics created by the artist. Additionally hand-painted, hand-embroidered, and machine-quilted.
Having experimented with creating my own fabrics for the past year, I've enjoyed combining the two types of hand-printed cottons. The soft rust prints seem to blend perfectly with the sharper blue and turquoise monoprints
Rusty Grove was juried into the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft's November-December 2008 exhibit, Unifying Threads, and was marked "Not For Sale" in order to remain available for this venue.
Linda Teddlie Minton began as a traditional quilter who quickly morphed into a mixed-media fiber artist and longarm quilter. She currently shows and sells her work at several Texas galleries. Linda's artwork can be seen in Creative Quilting: The Journal Quilt Project by Karey Patterson Bresenhan. She also recently curated the on-line exhibit Braving the Elements.
Linda lost her husband to cancer in 1999, and has been a supporter of Virginia Spiegel's Fiber Arts for a Cause since its beginning. Being asked to contribute a piece of her own artwork to the prestigious FFAC Reverse Auction is a great honor, and one in which she happily participates.
