Art Quilt. Surface treatment of crayon rubbings on the artist’s hand-painted
cotton cloth, newspaper text on inkjet printed cotton cloth, fusing, free-motion
machine threadwork with cotton, polyester and rayon threads and machine
quilting throughout. Finished with a tulle edge binding.
I began my art life working with textiles making art to wear and a few small
traditional quilts. Over time when I found that my work began to reflect the
changing world around us, I began to use surface design and multi-media to
express my views. Photographs, computer manipulation, paint, dye, surface
marks, fabric, paper, metal and virtually every thing and every surface became my tools of choice. My work is eclectic and I have many voices.
This art piece was designed especially for this event. I am honored to be invited
to participate and let my art do good with your help.
There is no best time to do good …there is only NOW.
