Art Quilt. Hand-dyed cotton, silk organza, paint, pastels, rayon and silk threads.
Appliqued and free motion quilted.

Last summer I filled many pages in my journal with sketches and
drawings of my garden. In review I was fascinated by the rose
hips...their variety in color and shape...and their longevity

Peg Keeney’s artwork invites people to come closer and enter her world to discover its mysteries and intricate beauty.  Hours spent
observing and studying the various moods and faces of the environment are transformed into fiber art depicting her natural world.

Peg works intuitively, building each piece like a collage, using the
basic elements of a quilt.  Her canvases combine hand-dyed,
commercial, stamped, painted fabrics, digital altered photographs,
and a variety of embellishments until she achieves her vision.

The sensuous surfaces and rich colors beg the viewer to “feel” the
energy that radiates from her work.

Peg exhibits her work nationally and internationally;  her work has
appeared in Quilter’s World, Arte de patchwork and Quilting Arts
magazines.

Peg lives in northern Michigan.  She is currently a member of the
Board of Directors of Studio Art Quilt Associates, and serves as the
chair of the Exhibition Committee.

Additionally Peg teaches on a limited basis, and enjoys working as an exhibit curator and juror.
