I love drawing nude women with round full bodies (such as my own) in a happy, content and contemplative mood. The nude woman in this piece was painted on white cotton fabric with water-soluble crayons, watercolor pencils, fabric dyes, fabric inks and fabric paint. Additional materials and techniques include machine quilting with cotton, rayon and metallic threads, big stitch hand quilting with cotton embroidery floss, couched yarns, beading and raw edge applique with commercial cotton fabrics.

My work is characterized by its sense of fun and spontaneity. My pieces are made to celebrate color, texture and stitch. I am always experimenting with new techniques because for me Life is about learning.

I consider myself a fiber artist but also create pieces in other
mediums. I especially enjoy working with water-soluble crayons on paper and fabric. I often do not have a plan when I start a piece and let the materials lead me to the final destination in a very spontaneous manner. I love abstract patterns inspired by nature as well as themes regarding children, motherhood and women's bodies. I often extensively hand stitch on my pieces with embroidery thread. This gives me a chance to put a very personal part of myself in each piece of artwork and the stitching is a very meditative process for me.
