Twelve notebooks stuffed full of notes, sketches, poetry and photographs from my journeys
in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) inspired this series of textile
constructions focusing on water, tree, rock and sky.

The BWCAW, a million acres of water and trees along the Canadian/Minnesota border,
has been set aside as one of the last places where Mother Nature, and not humans, reigns supreme.
Twice each year my sister and I venture forth for ten days with our 17.5' Kevlar canoe and three packs.
