Always fascinated by color and fabric, Diane Rusin Doran has been sewing since childhood and quilting since 1987. Focusing on machine techniques, she uses piecing and appliqué to create complex, heavily quilted pieces. Her quilts have been widely exhibited, and won awards at a variety of shows including IQA, NQA, and the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival.

Diane's most recent quilts explore color and dimension, and she enjoys experimenting with surface design and image transfer techniques. Her current technique of choice is to digitally manipulate photographs and paintings, print them using archival inks, and add dimension and detail through extensive machine quilting.
