How do I shop at the Fiberart For A Cause Booth?
Shopping Tips

Visit the FFAC booth on the Main Aisle in Special Exhibits and marvel at the sixty feet of wonderful fiberart postcards on display. Just ask one of the volunteers behind the tape to show you any postcard in which you have interest. Think of us as your personal art consultants.

We will work with patrons one at a time and walk down the Great Wall of Postcards pulling one postcard at a time for you to consider. We will hold all of your postcards for you (yes, this is different than IQF-Chicago). Once you have selected your postcard(s), you will be directed to a check writing table where you can write out your check to the American Cancer Society.

During busy times, there will be a Check Coordinator at the check writing table to assist you, answer any questions, and deliver the postcards you have selected to you. If no Check Coordinators are on duty, return with your check to the volunteer who assisted you and she will deliver your postcards to you.

Shopping Tips

DON'T FORGET to tuck some blank checks in your wallet for shopping at the FFAC postcard booth as payment is by check to the American Cancer Society.

We will be putting up new postcards every day until all the postcards are up, so every day is a good day to shop and you will need to visit frequently during the day to see the widest range of postcards.

Our least busiest times tend to be between 5 and 7 p.m. and also Sunday.

Check the Festival program for keynote speakers and other events that draw large crowds; these are good times to really see the postcards. Sunday is a good day to shop in that there is usually a little more space between the postcards and you can usually spend a lot more time on your choices.

Patience, patience, patience. We don't want to rush you in your choices, but we do want to have lots of postcards flying off the wall. To reach our very ambitious goal, we have to be very busy most of the time. So patience and good humor are the keys for all of us.

If you know that you will need LOTS of time to make decisions or are looking for a particular artist's work, then do stop by when the booth is less busy. We are also happy to help you build a coordinated collection of postcards during less busy times.

Bring your glasses! The tape will be about five feet away from the postcards. This really bothers some people, but it is the safest and most equitable way to ensure that everyone sees all the postcards and has an equal chance at securing a postcard they desire.

Don't limit yourself to the work of one or two artists -- there are literally hundreds of to-die-for fiberart postcards. When people ask me, "Show me a postcard by someone famous"; I say I could do that, but why don't they look for a minute and see if any of the postcards speak to them in some way. Buy art you love!

Thank you!
