I like this photo for two reasons. One is that I like anything with numbers, especially mysterious number added to boxes by the shippers. The second is that there is such an interesting progression here – box, big sheets of paper, then newspapers.

As always, half of us put our garbage out, just in case our schedule in unchanged by the holiday yesterday, and the other half assume our garbage day will be pushed back until tomorrow. I’m in the just-in-case half.

Color Block

Even if there isn’t any interesting garbage, there are always interesting shapes and colors. I’ve noticed that garbage cans are made in the U.S. in about four solid colors. Why not neons, florals, op art?

Signs for the garbage guys are one of my favorite TGHP finds. A styrofoam plate is an ironic choice for the sign.. This garbage can was full of metal stuff. Our disposal company does makes it difficult to find out what is acceptable, so why not let the garbage guys decide?

This cat litter box cover made me think of a furnace filter, one of my first subject for The Garbage Day Project. I guess if you think about it, same function, different purpose.

If you are in the mood to see the other photo, it is on my website with the other pre-blog photos. Go here and scroll down to November.
