Please read the following guidelines carefully as some changes have been made from last year.

Guidelines:

All materials are acceptable, but collages must contain some fiber (paper, fabric, or other fibrous material). There are no restrictions on content or style. Do keep in mind the inherent quality of a collage as an assembled artwork. Art quilts are, of course, acceptable.

Please remember collages will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis to patrons, so you will want to send your best work. Jpegs of the artwork must be of the correct size and useable on the web to be accepted.

It is your responsibility to avoid infringing upon the copyright held by others in your collage. Please research and understand the issues involved in copyright and collage; here is a brief overview to begin that process.

Collages may be any size and finished in any manner, but they must be finished or mounted to 10x8" (25.4 cm x 20.3 cm). The orientation may be either horizontal or vertical. Click here for a FAQ on acceptable mounting options if your collage is not 10x8."

Each online page of collages will state: All collages are finished to 10x8" or mounted to 10x8." All collages are ready for framing.

Size the collage itself to match your pricing scheme as all collages will be offered for a minimum $40 donation through Fiberart For A Cause to the American Cancer Society on May 6 and May 7 . May 5 will be Gold Donor Day; Gold Donor Patrons may choose collages for a minimum donation of $80.

While there is a minimum donation, patrons are encouraged to donate a bit more if they can for a favorite collage. Our goal this year is $20,000.

Limit ten collages per artist.

Collages will be sent by you directly to their purchaser.

The longest side of your jpeg should measure 350 pixels. Scanning the collage usually works quite well. Jpegs should be of the work itself and not include any mounting materials.

Please make the subject line of the e-mail sending your collage jpegs to Karen: Collage Mania Submission

Please label your jpegs as follows:
YourLastNameYourFirstInitialCollage1
Example: SpiegelVCollage1

In the body of your e-mail, please include the following:
Your Name
Name of your collage
h x w in inches of the actual collage. Include depth in inches if appropriate.
If you would like your name to be linked to your website or blog, please include the url. Since we are doing this to raise funds for the ACS, feel free to indicate that you are donating your collage as a survivor, in honor of or in memory of someone special to you. This notation will appear with your collage(s).
