Boundary Waters Series
Artist's Statement/Additional Information.

Twelve notebooks stuffed full of notes, sketches, poetry and photographs from my journeys in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) inspired this series of textile constructions focusing on water, tree, rock and sky.

The BWCAW, a million acres of water and trees along the Canadian/ Minnesota border, has been set aside as one of the last places where Mother Nature, and not humans, reigns supreme.

Twice each year my sister and I venture forth for ten days with one 17.5' Kevlar canoe and three packs.

Support for the creation of the Boundary Waters series through Boundary Waters 19 was generously provided by a residency at the Great Expections Creativity Center.

The Boundary Waters series premiered at Norfolk Arts Center, Norfolk NE. Scenes from the Opening Reception
